AI Page Builder, Directory Memory, and Smarter AI Tools

The AI now builds entire pages from plain language, remembers facts about your directory, shows its thinking process, and more — plus analytics improvements and SEO enhancements across the platform.

We've just shipped another wave of AI-powered features that make the platform smarter, more transparent, and more productive. The headliner: the AI Page Builder — a completely new way to create pages by describing what you want in plain language. But that's far from the only thing that changed. Let's walk through everything.

AI Page Builder: Describe It. The AI Builds It.

This is the big one. The new AI Page Builder turns natural language into fully-designed, production-ready pages. Just type what you need — a sponsorship landing page, a resource hub, an About page — and the AI assembles it using your directory's real blocks, complete with your site's fonts, colors, and spacing.

Unlike generic AI page builders that output brittle, one-off HTML, every page the AI creates is built from the same components you already use — hero sections, feature grids, FAQ accordions, pricing tables, and more. The result? Clean markup, fast performance, and full editability.

But it doesn't stop at layout. As the AI builds, it automatically weaves in internal links to your listings, blog posts, and other pages — strengthening your SEO without any manual effort. And if you already have a page you'd like to improve, four one-click Quick Actions let you Audit, Fix Structure, Polish Copy, and Fill Gaps — all powered by AI.

We also moved SEO parameters right into the Page Builder screen, so you can manage titles, descriptions, and OG images without leaving the builder. And a small but welcome quality-of-life improvement: the app now asks before letting you navigate away with unsaved changes.

AI Assistant Gets a Brain Upgrade

The AI Assistant picked up several improvements that make it more capable and easier to trust:

Directory Memory

The assistant now collects and remembers facts about your directory — your niche, your categories, your monetization model, your audience. This context carries across sessions, so the assistant's suggestions and responses become more relevant the more you use it. No more re-explaining what your directory is about every time you start a new chat.

Chain of Thought Transparency

Ever wondered what the AI is doing during those brief pauses? Now you can see it. The assistant shows its "Thinking" transcript — the step-by-step reasoning it goes through before responding. This gives you confidence the process isn't stuck and lets you understand how it arrived at a particular suggestion. It's a small UI change that makes a big difference in trust and debugging.

New AI Tools: Image Search & Generation

The assistant gained two new capabilities: photo_search for finding relevant images across the web, and generate_image for creating custom visuals on demand. Whether you need a hero image for a new landing page or photos to enrich your listings, the assistant can now source or generate them directly.

Permission System for Paid Tool Calls

Some AI tools consume credits, and now you control when that happens. The new permission system lets you set each paid tool to allow (run automatically), ask (prompt before running), or deny (never run without explicit approval). You stay in control of your credit spend.

Longer Chats, Better Budget

We improved the tool call budget so chats can run longer and accomplish more for the same credit cost. Complex multi-step tasks — like building a directory from a single idea — now have the headroom they need to complete without hitting limits prematurely.

Stop Auto-Scroll

The AI Chat panel now has a Stop Auto-scroll button. When you're reviewing earlier parts of a long conversation, new messages won't yank you back to the bottom. A "Jump to latest" button lets you re-engage auto-scrolling when you're ready.

Analytics & Performance: Scroll Depth & Unique Visitors per Breakdown

The analytics dashboard we launched earlier this month in Introducing Analytics & Performance got two useful additions. You can now track scroll depth — how far visitors are reading on your pages — and see unique visitors broken down by each dimension, not just totals. These give you richer insight into engagement and audience composition.

SEO & GEO: /llms.txt for All Paid Plans

Large language models and AI search tools increasingly look for /llms.txt files to understand what a site is about. We now serve /llms.txt automatically for every directory on a paid plan, giving AI crawlers a clean, structured summary of your site — no configuration required. This builds on the GEO strategy we discussed in the Smarter AI Assistant update earlier this month and helps position your directory to be cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI-powered search experiences.

What's Next

We're continuing to invest heavily in the AI Assistant and the tools around it. The AI Page Builder is the first of several page-building automation features we have planned.

As always, drop your feedback on the roadmap or join the conversation on Discord. If you haven't yet explored MakeADir v2.0 or the recently launched Paid Membership Tiers, now's a great time to see everything the platform can do.
